The Process
Kanch believes that the process of designing a wedding dress is a journey of self-discovery for both the client and the designer.
The wedding dress design process usually begins with a first consult. Kanch will personally sit down with the client and have an informal chat about the type of dress they may like, when and where they are getting married, what type of wedding they will have: formal or informal. Following the initial meeting, Kanch will prepare a proposal and, once a rough timeline is agreed, the fun begins.
Kanch loves the process of working with new clients.
Kanch's ideal client is one who is open and flexible, as this usually produces the most original and unique design. She believes this is the main reason clients should choose to work with a designer as opposed to a tailor or dressmaker. "Being open to change and experimentation are two aspects that I encourage all my clients to be! Just like cooking, making a dress is a process of experimentation; step by step until the prefect mixture is concocted. After a few months of intense interaction you are left with a new friend and a perfect dress".
